The library offers monthly grab-n-go craft kits for all ages! This month, teens and adults can make a wintery tissue paper scene, while kids can make a cute tissue paper polar bear! Each craft kit also includes coloring and activity sheets. Stop by the library to pick yours up while supplies last.

December Grab-n-Go Craft

The library offers monthly grab-n-go craft kits for all ages! This month, teens and adults can make a foam poinsettia bouquet, while kids can make a cute popsicle stick elf! Or, anyone can choose to make a popsicle stick bird house with jingle bell instead! Each craft kit also includes coloring and activity sheets. Stop by the library to pick yours up while supplies last.

Introducing Hoopla

The Centerville Public Library is pleased to offer Hoopla digital media service to our patrons! With Hoopla, library card holders can stream or download e-books, audiobooks, movies, television shows, comics, and music – all for free, with no holds or wait times! This new service gives our community access to more educational and entertainment material, in addition to our digital collections already available through Overdrive/Libby.

To get started, simply visit hoopladigital.com and sign up with your email address and a password. Once you have a Hoopla account, you can select the Centerville Public Library as your home library, and enter your library card number and PIN to get started. You can then access digital media on your computer, tablet, smartphone — even your TV!

Borrow 7 Hoopla titles a month! No waiting!

Once borrowed, materials are available for various time-frames, depending on the type of media.

  • Books: 21 days
  • Videos: 3 days
  • Music: 7 days

Titles are automatically returned and removed from your device at the end of the lending period.

*Make sure to download titles to your device if you want to ensure you can access them without Wi-Fi and without using mobile data.

November Grab-n-Go Craft

The library offers monthly grab-n-go craft kits for all ages! This month, teens and adults can make a button pumpkin frame, while kids can make a cute paper turkey! Each craft kit also includes coloring and activity sheets. Stop by the library to pick yours up while supplies last.

Fall StoryWalk®

Stop by the library anytime this October-November to participate in our Fall StoryWalk® – The Little Old Lady Who Was Not Afraid of Anything by Linda Williams. This classic autumn book is perfect for reading outdoors. Follow the orange leaves on each sign to interact with the story! Then fill out the quick survey at the end to let us know you were here, and you could win a $5 McDonald’s gift card.

You can even share your monster with us on our Facebook page, or by emailing a picture to read@centervillelibrary.info. Tell us your monster’s name and whether it is scary or friendly!

Each craft kit also includes coloring and activity sheets. Stop by the library to pick yours up while supplies last.

WiFi Hotspots Available for Checkout!

Did you know you can now check out a 5G hotspot with your Centerville library card? Create your own mobile hotspot for up to 15 devices with fast Internet speeds! Hotspots can be borrowed for one week at a time. The library currently has six hotspots, so you may want to check our online catalog or call us at 765-855-5223 to see if one is available before you visit.

September Grab-n-Go Craft

The library is pleased to offer monthly grab-n-go craft kits for all ages! This month, you can make an American flag pin to wear or display in remembrance of 9/11. Or kids can decorate a pirate hat for International Talk Like a Pirate Day! Each craft kit also includes coloring and activity sheets. Stop by the library to pick one up while supplies last.

Summer Reading Program 2021

Join us for Tails and Tales at the library this summer as we celebrate books and animals! We have a program for everyone, ages 0-100+!

The program starts May 24 and runs through July 2. Stop by the library to pick up your reading tracker, or download it below. As you complete activities, bring your sheet in to the library, or send a photo to us at CentervilleSummer@gmail.com or through a Facebook message. Everyone who participates can earn a FREE book, and school-age kids through adults will also be entered into a drawing for a Walmart gift card.

And don’t miss the fun activities we have planned:

  • Family Outdoor Storytime – Join us outside each Wednesday to read animal books. Space is limited, so please RSVP each week for your family’s spot. If you miss it, you can watch the recording on our Facebook page.
  • Library Lawn Scavenger Hunt – Can you find all the animal print-outs hiding outside on library grounds? Pick up your scavenger hunt sheet at either service desk. When you return the completed form, you’ll receive a small prize.
  • Weekly Animal Trivia – Check our Facebook page each week for a new animal trivia question (you can also turn in your guess at either of our service desks). All correct answers will go into a weekly drawing for a $5 food gift card.
  • Guess the Tail from the Tale – Guess the children’s book animal characters from pictures of just their tails! Everyone who completes the quiz will be entered into the drawing for a drawstring bag containing a puppet, coloring book, and crayons!
  • StoryWalk® – Stop by the library anytime to read an interactive story that walks you around the outside of the building. Everyone who completes the brief survey at the end will be entered to win a youth gift basket donated by Warm Glow Candle Company.   • Silly Sidewalk Obstacle Course – Any time you visit the library, you can hop, jump, and stomp your way through our sidewalk obstacle course!
  • Adult Crafts – Adults can pick up a grab-n-go bag with a different craft and coloring sheets each week, while supplies last! Check out our Facebook page each week to see the new craft and share a photo of your completed project.
