Ocean Coloring Contest

As part of our 2022 Summer Reading Challenge, kids and teens can enter an ocean-themed Coloring Contest! Grab a coloring page for your age group at the library, or print one from here! Do your best coloring and then bring your page to the library’s youth services desk to enter it into the contest. We’ll display all the artwork around the building, and library staff will vote on three winners – one for each age group – during the last week of June. You could win a coloring prize pack! The deadline to enter is Saturday, June 25th.

New STEAM Kits!

Four new kits

Last year, the Centerville Public Library added STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) Kits for young patrons to borrow with their library card. We’re happy to announce we’ve recently added four new kits to the collection. The new themed boxes are from Lakeshore Learning and are geared towards preschoolers to early elementary students.

As with our other kits, these new additions can be checked out on a Centerville library card for one week, with one renewal (limit one kit per family). We ask patrons to please return these kits to the Youth Services desk or to a staff member during a curbside visit – please do not put the plastic tubs in the book drop.

We’re excited to offer these hands-on activities to our patrons. Each kit contains one book and various activities to help kids learn and grow. Reserve a kit today through our online catalog. Or stop by the Youth Services Department.

New Kits for Preschool – Early Elementary:

  • Alphabet Theme Box
  • Farms Theme Box
  • Food & Nutrition Theme Box
  • Life Cycle Theme Box

Don’t forget about our other kits as well!

  • I Love Animals
  • Trucks & Tools

Bagged Kits for Grades 4+:
